The Palau International Ship Registry (PISR) was created by an amendment of Title 7 of the National Code in 2010 as the sole Ship Registry Administrator of the Republic of Palau, offering a new proposition of service and quality in Ship Registration Services. Palau is a Presidential Republic in the Compact Agreement of Free Association (COFA) with the United States of America, in which the U.S. Federal Government provides guaranteed funding, an international defense authority, and social services.
